钱松岩生于江苏宜兴，自幼学习传统诗书画，钱松岩画风早年受石溪、石涛影响颇深，但他不拘限于形似，而强调骨法用笔，喜用雄浑古拙之“颤笔”，自诩为“浑厚沉着”。钱松喦在六十岁后壮游祖国名山大川后锐意探索，巧妙地把传统技法和现实生活相结合，一批惊世骇俗之佳作跃然纸上，不仅形成了他自己独特的艺术风格，还为现代中国新山水闯出一条新路，并被誉为新金陵画派的重要代表。著名版画家赖少其说他是“寄热肠于清峻，既恬静而谨勤”。
深圳万世艺术征集到珍稀藏品，经万世艺术资深专家边复初老师鉴定为【 钱松岩 蜀道行旅图】，此画长：108cm，宽：59.5cm。钱松岩山水作品章法构图变化多端，色彩运用大胆独特。此图聚集了山树，人物，进行了细节的描绘。有了山的重峦叠嶂，树的重影烟雾缭绕的大气描绘。还有人群的细节，此画焦墨写枝干轮廓，线条沉郁，遒劲之状点画而出。松针繁密，笔法轻盈，细密处层层施墨，疏密处理恰到好处。山石藏于画面右侧烟雾之中，皴点而出，落墨平淡自然，再施以层层晕染，具有苍茫之感。画面深处一山与近处相呼应。画面下部城市秩次而出，白墙红瓦，富有生活气息，左下角粉红点缀出的梅花增添画面生气。整件作品笔墨浓淡变化丰富、物象交织融汇，线条纵横有序，近景、中景、远景层次清晰，显示其“承前启后，一代宗师”的艺术功力。
